The club began as Club América Nido Águila Seattle — one person's vision brought to life. Begad Anwar set out to bring the prestige, tradition, and passion of Club América to youth soccer players in the Seattle area, creating a pathway for young athletes to train, compete, and grow under the colors and standards of one of the most storied clubs in the world.
What started as a single program quickly grew into something larger. Recognizing the opportunity to build something lasting, Begad Anwar partnered with Adam Nowland to formalize and expand the club's reach. Together, they laid the foundation for what would become a statewide organization — one built not just on a name, but on a shared commitment to player development, community, and opportunity.
That partnership set the club on a path of rapid growth, expanding from a single Seattle program into a network of affiliate locations spanning communities across the state — from Grays Harbor to the Tri-Cities, from Vashon Island to Wenatchee. As the club's footprint grew beyond Seattle, it was renamed Club América Nido Águila Washington to reflect its statewide reach — with each affiliate carrying its own location name while operating under the Nido Águila Washington umbrella, all honoring the Club América legacy.
Today, under the leadership of Marlon Mejia as President, Club América Nido Águila Washington continues to build on that foundation — growing into a premier youth soccer organization that gives players across Washington State the chance to be part of something bigger than themselves.
